This was a great find for me because I have so many Easter baskets to fill in a few weeks.

The eggs were 2/$1.00 at Publix and I had 12 coupons for $1.00/2

I also had coupons out of the All You Magazine for $2.00/2 and this month I purchased 4 All You Magazines because the coupons were so good in them.

By the way if you receive the All You Magazine by mail the extra coupons were NOT in the mail out ones, only the newstand copies.

So after all of my coupons I ended up with 32 Snickers Creme Eggs for an overage of $4.00

Fruit Snacks Anyone??

So this was one of the more fun money saving trips I have done. Kari and I ventured to get the Albertson's ads and decided to get our fruit snacks while we were out. This deal was very exciting.

The fruit snacks were $2.75 on a BOGO sale. We ended up getting 72 boxes and paying just $9.50 for ALL of them! We made sure to hit a few different stores on the way back home so we didn't clear off the shelves anywhere :)

We used the $0.50/2 Man.Q and stacked it with the $4.00/4 Albertson's Q which made them $0.50 for 4 boxes!! My kids are going to LOVE them! They may be tired of fruit snacks but we won't be in need of them for a while :)

My Coupon Binder AKA "The Beast"

Many of you have asked how I file my coupons and what my binder looks like.... well my binder is HUGE. It might actually scare some of you away from doing couponing. I have taken couponing to the extreme to say the least.

I had a 1.5 inch binder but that didn't work out for very long. Once I had taken my first few classes with Coupon Queeny that binder was way to small. I have since upgraded it to a 3 in binder but as you might be able to tell from the picture is now busting at the seams as well.

Because I have so many categories within my binder I chose to make my own dividers. You can easily use the dividers that you can find at the store but with as much as I use it I needed something that I could easily replace. My dividers are made using sheet protectors, decorative paper and card stock. I also chose to use the removable tab dividers because then I can change or add any category at any time. 

 I have also found that it makes filing MUCH easier when you have several categories instead of a few really large broad categories. 

I use baseball card inserts for an easy way to store my coupons. I purchased mine in the baseball card section at Target. These hold 9 coupons to a page. I like these inserts because they are sturdy and don't rip as much as other types that I have used in the past. These inserts are made by Ultra Pro. 

This binder also has a filing system within the binder. Its nice to have because you can file all of the weekly sales fliers so that you always have them with you. It is also great to file coupon policies in as well. 

Hope that helps and gives you some insight into what a coupon binder can look like. The categories can be anything that you want them to be. I pick ones that are easy for me to know what goes into each one and where it might be in the store. Keep in mind my binder is HUGE because I file EVERY coupon EVERY week and I also buy more than just 2 or 3 papers a week. If you are just starting out, then you have the option to start small and you can always "upgrade" to a larger binder later.

Who doesn't LOVE to get things for FREE?!?! I LOVE finding the FREE deals as part of couponing! It makes it even more exciting!! Here are a few deals that I have gotten since I've started :)

 

 

 Hartz Crunch N Clean Dog Treats

This deal was on a BOGO sale at Publix and Hartz had $2.00/1 coupons out!
With the sale at Publix the overage on these was great! 

The overage came out to be .50 per box that I was able to use towards groceries! Needless to say we ended up with over 20 boxes of dog treats!  (And YES we have a dog!)

Right Guard Deodorant 

This sale was a BOGO sale at Walgreens and Right Guard had out a BOGO coupon! 

That meant that I got 2 totally FREE!!! 

I bought 26 Right Guard Deodorant!! Why not, all I paid was the tax!

FREE Deodorant!!!

This week at Walgreens they had Buy 1 Get 1 FREE (BOGO) Right Guard Deodorant. In the paper last week or the week before there was a BOGO Coupon for Right Guard Products.

When you have a BOGO sale and a BOGO coupon it makes BOTH items completely FREE!!! Here is my deal from Walgreens this week :)

Wal-Mart Coupon Trip

For those of you who know me, know that I'm NOT a fan of Wal-Mart and really don't look forward to shopping there. BUT recently Wal-Mart changed their coupon policy to make it a little more "coupon friendly'" and if it's done right you can get some great overage towards other purchases.

Yes Wal-Mart PAID me $8.50 to buy these items! I have to say that I really do like their new coupon policy and it has been a nice way to save on things that you can't get coupons for. I just hope that people don't abuse the policy.

Coupon Adventures :)

So I decided I would finally give it a go at trying to get a blog going :)  I already take pictures of all my groceries so why not blog about it. Here it goes :)

I started couponing in full force back in January. I had done a little bit of couponing before that but I got behind and didn't really keep up with it much. I decided I would take a class by Coupon Queeny at the end of December that she was giving at Chick Fil A. From the time of that class until now, I'm hooked on clipping coupons. I haven't missed a Sunday paper and my coupons since then.

I started couponing not because we had to but because I really enjoy finding the deals and to see how much I can save every trip. Some trips are better than others but its like a natural high to walk out of the store knowing that I saved more money then I spent.

There are many different ways to organize coupons but I use the binder method. I started with a 1.5 inch binder and ended up having to get a 3'' binder and now I have more coupons then I know what to do with! I will post a picture of my gigantic "beast" of a binder in another post. I have it broken up into several categories to help with the organization of it all.

So my goal or plan with my blog is to post some of the deals and trips that I have done and that I find along the way.
